Horiatiki / Greek Salad


4 Medium Tomatoes (Ripe)
1 Cucumber
1/3 lb Feta Cheese
1 Green Bell Pepper
1 Handful Olives
1/2 Red Onion
1 Pinch Oregano (To taste)
1 Pinch Salt (To taste)
1/2 Cup Olive Oil


  • 1 Handful Capers (To taste)
  • Splash of red wine or balsamic vinegar


Cut the tomatoes into wedges and the cucumber 1/2 inch thick and add to a bowl.

Add sliced green bell pepper.

Cut the red onion extremely thin. (A trick to get the strong onion taste out is to salt the sliced onion, squeeze it with your hands and run it under the sink)

Top with the olives, capers and oregano and cover with crumbled feta cheese or lay the block of feta cheese on top.

Pour the olive oil evenly and add a splash of vinegar if you wish.
