Gulab Jamun


2 ½ cups milk powder
½ cup flour
½ pint heavy whipping cream
pinch of baking soda
3 cups sugar
5 ½ cups water
5 tsp ground cardamom

oil for frying
shredded coconut



Mix milk powder, flour and baking soda in bowl. Add whipping cream and knead. Make sure dough is soft and easy to knead, adding milk if needed. Leave for a few minutes


Add sugar and water and cardamom in a pot and bring to boil. Reduce heat and continue cooking for 5 minutes. Set aside.


Roll the dough into round balls. Place jamuns into oil and cook until golden brown. Remove from oil and place immediately into syrup and let sit for 10 minutes. Remove from syrup, top with coconut and serve.
